The founders of the Trust aimed to create an organisation that could be used by and be of benefit to people with ASC and their families. The scope, direction and expansion of the Trust's activities is and will continue to be driven by these needs.
The Board welcomes interest from people in joining the Board. Meetings are held around four times a year in the evening in Gillingham, Kent. We are delighted to be able to tell you that we have three new developments that will add to our support options for people. We know, from over 20 years of experience of successfully supporting people across the spectrum, that every person’s wants and needs are individual. In response to this we are always moving forward in our quest to provide person centred, flexible support.
The first of our new developments is a self-contained block of six flats: two, two-bedroom flats and four one-bedroom flats. This development has been achievable through partnership with mhs homes, and it is located at Medway Gate, Strood, Kent.
The second development comprises of two self-contained flats in a four flat block. These flats are in Albatross Avenue, Strood, Kent, and this development has been enabled through our partnership with mhs homes.
Our third development is a day vocational resource centre in Canterbury. The Trust purchased this property at the end of 2010, and development of the day vocational centre took place over the summer. This property was developed along the lines of our three other day resource centres with the design of the building and environment providing the space, natural light, and small work areas that will enable us to successfully support individuals in the way that gets the best results. The second and third phases of the development will include respite facilities and 2 self-contained flats.
For more information about these developments, please contact us by telephone on 01634 405168 or by email at office@kentautistic.com
